Assignment: Getting Started in Photoshop
Click on the PS videos link above. Download the tutorial files. Watch the 5 videos and follow along. Save your files as yourlastname.nameoftutorial.jpg. Turn in each of the five files in the correct hand in folders (click on the hand in link above).
Assignment: Self Portrait
The self-portrait has been a popular form of expression ever since man first saw his own reflection. Much like Narcissus, it’s often the case that we need not look beyond the tip of our own nose for a muse worth studying.
Create a self portrait that tells the viewer something about your true personality. This image should evoke emotion in your viewer and lead the viewer into a story about who you are or at least make them wonder about how you are. Pull them into the image but leave some questions unanswered. Key aspects of this shoot should include interesting lighting, dramatic camera angles, use of props, creative use of depth of field, as well as creative Photoshop techniques.

Critique Day: Thursday 4/25
Whether you have a multi-thousand dollar DSLR or a simple cell phone camera, you can take good pictures if you have photography skills. Sometimes working with a mobile phone camera can be an advantage, you always have it with you, the speed at which you can capture an image, the size and flexibility of the phone makes it easier to get a unique angle, to name just a few advantages.

Create an image or images that evoke emotion in your viewer. Photographers have the power to change the way people see the world, use the skills you have learned in this class to make your viewer see something in a new or different way.
Assignment: Photoshop Challenge (restoration)
Old photos are often faded, stained, cracked and have other damage. Using photoshop see if you can fix the tonality, repair damage, and recolor the image. Use the "Start Image" and try to match it to the final image.
